comment How to manually add OS in GRUB?
When You boot in from the 12.04 LTS media, It will detect the existing OS and make this entries in GRUB automatically. I.e. Before you choose the installation mode/details etc. If you're confident of the selected OSes you can safely quit this process. Then, remove media and try again. If this doesnot help, simply "Reinstall" - with "retain Home directory". it should fix it

comment Error 503 - Varnish cache server
1st plz check the "Host" adapter its bridged to. if you use more than 1 ( as do I) Plz bridge it to the correct adapter. after booting in, in the Ubuntu terminal try adding the ip address that would be in your Lan. (I am in 192.168.1.0/32 so this would work.) Plz assign appropriately. sudo ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.16 netmask 255.255.255.0 And check this by typing ifconfig again. and use "route" if you need to give gateway (not required for this exercise) Check the ip address u just assigned from host. before that confirm varnish runs by "sudo service varnish status"

comment OS only reports 4.1GB of RAM and not the 6GB that is installed… why?
This May invoke a GIYF from some. But I have tried half a dozen tricks and still my Toshiba Satelitte 630c with Ubuntu 11.10 is unable to use the 6GB (2GB + 4GB Dimm) . However, if you're to suggest conflicting freqs..its not as my Machine detects 2.3 GB of RAM...
