I'm dual booting 12.04 and Win7 on a Toshiba Satellite e305 and going Ubuntu-only on an HP Mini netbook.
Light user, web/office/creative/fun.
Always wishing the unity panel/bar were coded to auto-hide - the only thing that's in the way with Ubuntu.
If you have any great lenses let me know!

New SWAP partition: help to recognize? I just did. newb - oldrob. I now have a ridiculously large swap partition (9.8 GB) and it's recognized in the system monitor as active. none of it's being used yet but it's there if I the system needs it. |

How to Migrate Ubuntu 12.04 installation to another partition in simple way? I took this route as I had the installation CD handy and a bunch of spare time to make sure it all went well. I think that there's a big chance I won't need as much room as I left (an 80GB Ubuntu Partition is way more than I need) but I'll figure out in time how much space I'll need and then maybe partition a new swap area. Since it'll be closer to the outer rings of the HDD it'll be quicker. Either that or just resize the storage partition. Thanks for the dose of reality, tijybba. This was easier than doing something I'd never done before to potentially mess something up. |

How to Migrate Ubuntu 12.04 installation to another partition in simple way? I was told 'permission denied' in the terminal. I presume that's a command to input once I've made the image and migrated it. |

Why can't the Unity panel be hidden? Thanks, Jorge. I like the unity launcher. It's not entirely fair to compare 12.04 to Windows, but even with XP I can autohide every notification zone and customize a mac style dock-like toolbar, built into the OS. |
