comment Cloned partition not seen correctly by disk utility & gparted
I used fdisk to set OFF boot flag to /dev/sda1 and ON to /dev/sda3. I used then partprobe to re-read part-table. Now disk utility sees both partition with boot flag "ON" and still thinks that /dev/sda1 is mounted and /dev/sda3 isn't. Gparted instead, sees correctly the new boot flags, but it still isn't able to format /dev/sda1, giving the same result as before. Formatting at the command line with mkfs command gives this : ` root@hydra:/etc/default# mkfs.ext2 -L "" /dev/sda1
mke2fs 1.41.14 (22-Dec-2010)
/dev/sda1 is mounted; will not make a filesystem here!`
