comment Ubuntu SDK Design
If you want designer mode, and running applications on your local PC to work properly, you'll need to run the SDK on the target version of Ubuntu for the frameworks you're targeting, with those frameworks installed. The SDK doesn't provide the runtimes for older versions of Ubuntu.

comment Ubuntu updates via ipv6 only
Could you perhaps explain what the exact problem is? AFAIK, if your DNS resolves the IPV6 of the host you're connecting to (archive.ubuntu.com) and you have an IPV6 route to that address, then you should be able to download the updates from it via apt.

comment Ubuntu 12.04, PCI, and CVE-2015-5352
Probably better to just disable root access over ssh entirely, and require use of sudo to perform actions requiring root on the machines. However, it seems that the issue is not limited to root user, but that X11 connections can be permitted even after the timeout.

comment Python is not working in ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Please be more specific. The python system definitely works fine in 14.04. Are you using some PPAs that provide python packages? Did you modify the alternatives system?

Are you not using the proprietary NVidia drivers? You need to activate them, most likely.

comment How safe is the Software Center from the Ubuntu phone?
No, code is not reviewed when it is uploaded to the store; and there's nothing preventing people from uploading proprietary apps. Everything in the old software center is not necessarily open source either. Skype, Flash, etc… are proprietary and no code is available to be reviewed.

comment How safe is the Software Center from the Ubuntu phone?
The app store itself is safe. But you're asking whether you should trust apps in the app store. That is a matter of your own personal trust, and not something that can be answered here. It's possible for people to distribute malicious or insecure software through both mediums.

comment Install/Use Specific Subversion of GCC
If your code compiles with 4.8.2 and not 4.8.4, then likely this is due to a bug in the compiler that was fixed. You should fix the issue in your code, so that it compiles.

My question was whether you could provide a specific example that perhaps others could check against as well.

I don't use chrome. I don't see this problem in Firefox either. I can Ctrl+click on your name on this very page, and it opens your profile in a new window. If I Ctrl+click on "Add a new comment" however, it does not, but simply expands the comment entry box.

Can you provide a more concrete example? There are many links on many web sites today which break the "open in new tab" feature of browsers.

@saiarcot895 Then I guess it's even less likely to work unless you can modify the settings in OS X, or within the Apple BIOS equivalent.

AFAIK, you have to select in the BIOS setup, or in Windows and reboot, and the AMD drivers on Linux do not support the AMD/Intel hybrid video configurations.
