comment How do I assign a keyboard shortcut that uses AltGr as a modifier key?
@fossfreedom Would like this reopened so it stands a nonzero (albeit miniscule) chance of being answered. Closed, it signals to potential answerers “we don't care anymore”; if someone does come by with an answer, don't we want them to provide it?

comment How can I make Banshee re-encode FLAC to Ogg Vorbis when copying to my player?
Setting the output_formats variable in .is_audio_player did the trick.

comment Why is Desktop Unity using the global application menu?
Size is only one part of Fitts' Law - the other part is distance to the target (which results in travel time). Further, the farther away the target is, the bigger it should be. Global menus can still be a good idea, but effective size isn't the only variable in the equation.

comment Type 1 fonts render poorly on-screen
That's weird - I thought accepting the answer was enough to issue the bounty. I guess I was supposed to issue it separately for full credit to happen.

To complete the change, I had to edit ~/.fonts.conf to set the hintstyle assignment to hintslight. URW Palladio does not hint well with medium hinting (which is unfortunate, since I prefer the medium-hinted aesthetic for everything else).
