Hi there!

I spend most of my time writing python code for a security company. I enjoy learning new things everyday and helping out in solving small problems when I have some time.

I've recently started writing a blog with the things I've learned and/or considered interesting while doing python code reviews. I hope it's helpful to some of you.

You can know more about me by looking at my Careers 2.0 profile or at my LinkedIn profile.

comment HP PSC1410 printer is not printing, status is stating filter failed
I had the same problem with a PSC1110 and after looking at CUPS page, resuming the printer, setting log level to debug in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf, restarting the service and checking again the log... what actually worked was trying a different USB port.

comment How to keep version number in a single place in a python project with setup.py and debian/control
Thanks a lot. Running a command in debian/rules is indeed a nice strategy that works fine.

comment Is it possible to downgrade gcc 4.6.1 to 4.4.x?
@mac It's a shame the old link doesn't work anymore. I've updated the response to point to link you suggested since it provides a good explanation of what has to be done indeed. Thanks.

comment Low timeout threshold for double-click mouse event
The mouse seems to be back and I'm no longer getting the same problem. However, your answer seems reasonable, so I'm going to accept it. If I get the same problem again, I'll update the question if this doesn't work. Thanks!

comment What to do regarding BackDoor.Wirenet.1
@Glutanimate Looks like this does the job: sudo ufw reject out to 212.7.208.65. You can test by trying to ping to that IP later.
