comment How to easily install any GPG GUI on Ubuntu that actually works?
@karel: No. Pyrite isn't in fedora or Ubuntu repos because I've simply never tried to get it in. Anyone else is welcome to try.

If you have any trouble with pyrite on Ubuntu, hit me up on github and I'll be happy to help. It should work fine, but I haven't tested it on any recent versions of Ubuntu (I'm more of a fedora/rh guy).

@JL RE umask: you simply need to run the command umask 177 (whether manually or from a script) to make it so that any files created in that shell have 600 perms (i.e., rw-------). You can do this manually, or from a script.

comment debuild -S in cronjob: how to avoid interactive gpg
Ah, I see. I didn't realize you weren't calling gpg directly (not familiar with debuild). A quick google search on debuild & gpg gets some hits, but I don't have more time to look into it right now. Let us know what you figure out!

comment Encrypting and decrypting single file with master password and passphrase
@lori: Hopefully it should be clear to you now. If you're wanting to do gpg symmetric / symmetric+asymmetric often, you might be interested in checking out my gpg frontend. When running it from a terminal, it even prints out what gpg command it used.
