How do I install the latest OpenOffice.org? I just would like to make it clear for the author of question: it is important to install all packages at once, that's why dpkg -i *.deb can't be replaced with multiple dpkg -i %package% commands unless you guess the correct order of installation to resolve all dependencies. That's the only problem that makes it a bad idea to use graphical package installers for these DEB packages. |

How do I downgrade Rhythmbox in Ubuntu 13.04 Yes, your system can't resolve dependencies because the required packages are not in current repositories but in quantal. I've updated my answer to explain where to get them manually. (Alternatively, you can add quantal repositories to sources.list, but I'm not sure if it is a problem-free solution.) |

NTFS partition suddenly becomes unavailiable (If somebody reads this, googling for solution, maybe it will be useful.) Command ntfsls --force /dev/sda7 shows list of directories in the partition root. It can make you less nervous when you're thinking «Where the f*ck are my files?» but unfortunately doesn't solve the problem. :-( (Keep on googling. I haven't found the solution yet.) |

NTFS partition suddenly becomes unavailiable Unfortunately, not. Today, while I was away but my computer was turned on, it happened again. When I came back, I entered umount /media/data, then mount /media/data (all under root, of course), and everything works now. This helps sometimes, but it never helps immediately after the problem: I need to wait. :-( Or reboot, which is usually quicker. |

NTFS partition suddenly becomes unavailiable I ran disk checking & fixing in Windows 7. I run Russian version of it, so I don't how would English message look but it should be something like «Some errors have been found and fixed, blablabla, the device is now ready for work». After that I rebooted to Kubuntu, and experienced the problem again after less that half a day. So: disk checking doesn't help. |
