I am the typical "computer nerd", with skills in a number of programming languages and a wide range of computer hardware and software.

@rajagenupula When you type firefox from a console, you're running a script that later launches the firefox binary detached from your console. That step is not automatic for most commands.

comment How can I change the default port of Remote Desktop (VNC)?
what model router? you should be able to tell it what the local port for each outside port is. so mydomain.com:5600 -> 192.168.1.100:5600 and mydomain.com:5601 -> 192.168.1.200:5600

you seem to have some confusion about networking here. why do two different VNC services on different computers need to be running on different ports?

comment what does mean // directory?
My PS1 in bash on OSX is "\h:\W \u\$" and I get this strange behavior, too. / and /// and //// and ///// all show up as /, but the special case of two forward slashes shows up as two forward slashes.

comment How to find ghostscript files in ubuntu?
@user142095 that's a much trickier question, actually. As mentioned in my other comment, GS can handle a lot of file formats.

GS can read .ps files, along with many other formats. In scripts that produce files and feed them directly to GS I've seen the .gs extension used to indicate a file made for GS, as opposed to a generic ps file.
