comment How to change Byobu prompt from “>” to “$”?
I'm happy to answer Byobu questions here, or on any other StackExchange site. I actively monitor all of them for questions tagged 'bybou'.

comment No sound on HDMI through a Pioneer VSX-527, works if connected directly to the TV
Brilliant! Thanks a lot. Same problems here, with an i5 NUC, and a VSX-70 receiver. I can't believe this question+answer hasn't been voted up more!

comment Can Mouse Wheel Scrolling be enabled in Byobu
That's a separate question, Sushantp606. But the answer is "yes". Shift-F9 (or Shift-F7) in the latest Byobu release, 5.66).

comment Disable keybindings in byobu using tmux backend
Hmm, you have something else going on here, I'm afraid. I've tested this on 3 different system, and it's working as described across the board... Perhaps try moving your ~/.byobu out of the way, and letting Byobu create a new one for you.

comment Disable keybindings in byobu using tmux backend
Hmm, can you try updating to the latest Byobu release from the ppa? sudo apt-add-repository ppa:byobu/ppa && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install -y byobu

Hmm, I made the same mistake in my instructions. Try what's above. That's working perfectly for me...

comment su not properly logged when using byobu
I see there that you logged a bug with GNU Screen... I actually couldn't reproduce it with GNU Screen. It might be worth filing a bug or asking about this on the tmux mailing list.

comment How do I send a literal F6/etc. in byobu?
You can use the byobu-ctrl-a helper command to set your escape key, and change it back and forth.

comment How do I change the default shell used in Byobu (tmux)?
No problem ;-) It's 1000x more useful when someone asks a good question like this, here in AskUbuntu or StackExchange, so that others can benefit from the answer :-) I just wish I could get all of the people who use IRC and Launchpad Questions over here...

comment Why doesn't ctrl-pgup and ctrl-pgdn change tabs in vim when started in byobu?
Hmm, interesting. I have reproduced this actually. This happens, though, with or without Byobu, if you use GNU Screen or Tmux. It looks like a bug in Screen and Tmux.

comment byobu - status fields not hiding when I/O becomes zero - bug, or as expected?
This was a bug at one point. Can you check you version of Byobu with 'byobu -v'? I expect that this is fixed in the most recent versions.

comment How to prevent Unity launcher appearing when using browser back button?
This is NOT a duplicate of the "reveal" question. If you have a Thinkpad (or similar) laptop, with a dedicated "browser back" button, the Unity launcher annoyingly pops up every time you hit the browser back button.

What if you press alt-pageup, and then try using the scroll wheel...does that work?

comment Are all of the backup files & folders of encrypted /home folder also encrypted on the backup HDD?
This is a very reasonable question, but it should be asked as a new question of its own, and not a comment here. Thanks!
