comment How to install the latest Java OpenJDK version?
And because JDK 6 and 7 are different things with different "latest" versions. And 10.04 comes with JDK 6.

@Jesper This would mean that Java6 should not exist anymore. Then why the latest linux distros still come with 6? I am not sure it is full backwards compatible.

These are different, JDK6 and JDK7 are not compatible and both have "latest" versions. Like Python 2 and Python 3

I have commented these two lines, removed the repetitive entries from /etc/mtab , restarted and now it is ok, there are only two and they do not increment afer restart. Still, there is no root mount, but the disk space is displayed in the existing entries. Don't know if this is correct, but seems to work.

This configuration is on the guest, not the host. The host is some VPS provider.

This is the /ect/init/openvz.conf : pastebin.com/rKVzF3br Also, on every restart df -h shows two more entries, so they keep incrementing...

I am using 10.04 as it is the latest LTS release. It is used, so I expected to find a package. The launchpad part works, thanks!

Compiling it is ok, but then you have to setup the configuration in etc, the startup/shutdown scripts, etc. I need it to be integrated with the system and easily upgrade-able.
