comment DRI_PRIME doesnt work
Aha, sounds like the compositor problem! I bet you are using Unity. I advice to try out xfce (as it works for me) or run the game in a window. Note that installing xfce in Ubuntu does make some weird things happen to things like themes and such.

Dont really seen how that is weird :). With DRI_PRIME you get higher fps, so sounds good to me. Another thing I do: I start steam with 'DRI_PRIME=1 steam'. Nothing more. You can then go to steam system information and it should show decent graphics info. Any game you launch from steam will then be running with DRI_PRIME.

I have a similar issue. For me my themes and icons in Ubuntu session are completely messed up. I expected only my xubuntu session to be different.

comment Can rhythmbox play media on my DLNA TV?
No I haven't. Still searching for a solution every now and then though. Worst thing is that windows has it.

comment Can rhythmbox play media on my DLNA TV?
@Takkat, that is a neat piece of hacking, and I got that working, but it gives a horrible (but expected) delay (20sec) on the sound. Not really what I was looking for. I am looking more for something like a DLNA controller.

comment Hybrid Graphics on Ubuntu 12.04 switching to discrete
@cfstras bumblebee is from what I understood to have a muxless setup working, but only works for intel/nvidia, and not intel/radeon. If you are sure you have mux, you might have a switch in the BIOS to choose the graphics you want to boot with.
