comment Force file extension to open with specific app (Extensions like .exe, .jpg, .mp4…)
I feel bad just copying it, or should I just copy my comment to an answer? It would be nice to see what Ubuntu Tweak actually does, it makes some extra desktop files, but I don't know if it does anything extra...

comment can i use an ubuntu live usb/cd without damaging my windows 8 pc?
You can actually install stuff, it will just install to ram, or if you have persistence enabled on your usb it will save your changes to usb.

try sudo apt-get purge libreoffice*, this will remove all traces of the previous installation of libreoffice. After this you will need to follow the guide again.

This appears to be a bug:bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wine1.4/+bug/994309 please go to this link, make an account, and click the text which says '...does this bug affect you?' (near the top). For now can you try: dpkg --add-architecture i386, then sudo apt-get update, and finally sudo apt-get install -f. Sorry, for all the trouble Ubuntu is causing you ;)

It knows about the problems you had before, so it will know that you tried to install wine but failed, now it will try to correct it. If all goes right this command will actually install wine.

not adding the -f flag, only with the -f flag, so sudo apt-get install -f

comment Simulate media keys in terminal
@earthmeLon Are you sure you are running the command on the remote machine? Because for me it works fine over ssh. I needed to set the DISPLAY variable though, see my edit.
