Here's my setup: HDD is not being used, SSD is split into 2 partitions, one's for windows, the other for Ubuntu, GRUB is installed on SSD MBR (/dev/sda)

when I try to boot in recovery mode the only line I get on screen is "loading kernel 3.xx". From what I gathered from other threads - it has something to do with EFI vs BIOS boot.

@fossfreedom - i followed the Q&A you mentioned, added new entry, grub2, it doesnt allow me to select the partition (as device "automatically configured") then when i reboot and select that option - it boots into grub4dos command prompt. so i'm stuck here.
