comment Ubuntu One won't sync certain files, even though they appear in the web interface
I found myself experiencing the same issue again and coming back to this old post. This time around I found an easier solution: I unchecked the "sync" checkbox next to the folder, re-checked it, and it seemed to resync precisely the remaining files.

comment How do I enable Emacs keybindings in Google Chrome?
This does not seem to make any difference, I set the relevant configuration item and even restarted my whole system but Chrome does not recognise any Emacs keybindings for me...

comment Periodic clicking sound from PC speaker
Thanks for your help! The first line worked, but adding the second line to /etc/rc.local does not seem to make a difference; The problem returns each time I unplug the laptop or wake it from sleeping (while unplugged). I have to run the first command every time to stop the clicking, but maybe this can be set permanently somewhere? Thanks again.

More recently I noticed that it only happens when my laptop is unplugged and running on batteries. Have you noticed the same @jonnat ?

comment How do I get the latest GIMP version available?
Thanks for this. What will happen when Gimp 2.8 becomes part of the next Ubuntu release, 12.10? What steps should be followed to make everything "clean" again?
