comment Can I apply a different GTK3 theme from the main one to an individual application?
Nice reply but I cannot get this to work for any theme. Can you give an example using terminal, find /usr/share/themes -type d -name 'gtk-3.0' | awk -F'/' '{print $5}' and gedit for demonstration purposes? E.g. GTK_THEME="HighContrast" gedit or env GTK_THEME="HighContrast" gedit or GTK_THEME=Adwaita:dark gedit... nothing.

comment Can I change Wacom Bamboo touch settings?
Thanks for your answer. However, Threshold does not seem to change anything, from 1 to 50 to 100. ScrollDistance seems to impact the scrollspeed, not the delay before the scrolling starts. And not even the Mode seems to change anything, although your explanation makes total sense. I know I am using the correct Wacom string, because Touch (on or off) works normally.

Where can you find this iscan plugin package (*esci-interpreter-gt-f720_0.1.1-2_amd64.deb*)? It's not listed with the other packages on the provided url.

Why does this remove xbmc and xbmc-bin as well? There are no xbmc tables in mysql when browsing with phpmyadmin.

comment Enable the keyboard backlights on supported Lenovo (e.g. Carbon X1) with command
Hey you're right, I didn't know. Since we can turn it off, it 'feels' like it would be a piece of cake to fix this for developers. Is there a bugreport yet?

Thanks, this is the closest answer so far. I've edited your answer (pending peer review) to incorporate the two linked solutions, and accepted it.

comment How do I gvfs-mount without opening a file manager window?
No, using fstab for this purpose is wrong. First, hotpluggable drives will cause mount-errors. Second, personal drives do not need to be hard-coded on a global scale (root in stead of user). Third, I would need to hard-code LUKS passwords. Fourth, this will remove the mounted hardware from the handy devices list. Sixth, gvfs-mount was developed specifically for this purpose.

It works for me. Strangely not through /dev/disks/by-label or /by-uuid, but only by /dev/sdxx

comment Is it possible to get PdfEdit running on Ubuntu 12.10 using qt3to4?
Could you copy your answer here preceded by that link to your original post? It's the closest thing to an acceptable answer, and according to the PdfEdit bugtracker, converting Qt3 to Qt4 seems to take so long, it probably is not as easy as I thought. Funny detail: The Windows version is now Qt4.

comment How do I run Tomboy in the notification area at startup?
Does this also work for the numerous notes that will automatically open (I guess because they were open when shutting down)? I'd like to stop tomboy from opening any note when loading.

Have you found something relevant that you can share as an answer to your own question? I am trying to do something similar, but I can't piece together the vague answers around the web.
