comment Brother DCP-7070 does not scan
Did you also install the Brother Scanner settings package? Much easier is installing using the custom script from Brother - see askubuntu.com/questions/636363/…

comment xfce 4.12 bluetooth support for A2DP
You are free to try out an app I wrote some time ago (launchpad.net/bt-autoconnect). I haven't tried this on recent XFCE but it was designed to work there too including Blueman support. In case there are issues just let me know (e.g. by filing a bug on launchpad).

comment Unable to mount external NTFS HDDs due to duplicate UUID
Actually the OP apparently already has a label for their drives. So it's just an edit of the fstab - udisks mount to /media should already use the label.

comment virtualbox installlation requirement
To be able to install virtualbox from the software center you may have to enable the multiverse repository. For the closed source more update version see askubuntu.com/questions/41478/…

comment Incredibly slow boot time with ssd
This may be an issue of waiting for now non-existent partitions while booting. Look for obsolete entries in your fstab, or /etc/default/grub settings. In case you need help on this you should edit your question and add these.

comment Sensor data missing in Ubuntu 14.04 on GA970A-D3P board
as said, it may not be supported then (I am sadly having the same issue with AMD A8-6500 on a Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN)

We need more information on your hardware. Please edit your question to add the brand and make of your laptop. If possible also add the graphic card and driver it uses.

comment VirtualBox Restart Slow
Can't give you a solution to this but on some systems 14.04 fails to shutdown in virtualbox. As a workaround poweroff the VM from the menu but wait to do so until the shutdown stalls. The issue appears to be resolved in 15.04.

comment Not able to view all options in Ubuntu desktop
Your second screen shot indicates that the guest additions graphics driver was not installed correctly. You may need to re-install them. With HOST + A you will adjust the Ubuntu desktop to the windows size. See askubuntu.com/questions/23053/…

comment After upgrading to 2015.04, VirtualBox crashes at Windows VM start, nothing in log
This may apparently be a Windows issue - 00:00:09.257329 Guest Additions information report: Version 4.2.10 r84104 '4.2.10' could indicate a possible issue from out-dated Guest Additions in the Windows VM but I can't really tell you how to install these in a non-booting Windows. Try to disable 3D acceleration, USB, shared folders in the settings, or boot in fail-safe mode may be worth a try.

comment Autostart x11vnc in Lubuntu
@linuxgringo: at least it is what can be done. Starting x11vnc from autostart of course is possible too but then you would have the VNC server listening all the time even if not needed. For us the SSH approach turned out to be more convenient.
