My computing experience dates back to the eighties when DOS was brand new and home machines ran on CP/M. From building my own systems I have some understanding in hardware and other complicated things but it is my believe that an OS has to be easy to use and to configure. That's why I use Ubuntu.

Same here - I've no idea what else we might shutdown by this. A better solution would be to write an application/script that is controlled by DBus - I guess this is a lot more work.
