Use Linux commands on windows directories through ssh And let's not forget its SSH cousin, SFTP! Works the same way, except over SSH. |

Unity Dash shows up while drag-n-dropping a selection in GTK apps Think it qualifies as a bug. I've made a few such papercut bug reports myself, they are important. Bug reports go here bugs.launchpad.net/unity |

How do I change the Super key dash shortcut menu That's not what he asked. He wants to know how to replace the preset quick choice apps on opening dash. |

No Firefox (internet) icon in dash Think he means the quick choices that come up when you just press super. Mine is for some reason set to Chrome, although Firefox is my preferred browser (and has been set that way for a long time). |

Is it a good idea to selectively upgrade software from newer releases? yes, supposedly it's the linux kernel itself suffering power usage regressions. |

Is it a good idea to selectively upgrade software from newer releases? There's always classic Ubuntu, in 11.04, that doesn't use Unity. You just set it when you log in, it'll remember it. I also noticed a sharp decrease in battery time in Natty, so if you run it on a laptop, that's something to consider. |

bash shells opened via Terminal's “Open Tab” do not source .bashrc if unsetting the BASH_ENV is the solution you might want to post it as answer. Would be nice to know why that happens though. |

Unity Super + D shortcut doesn't work That is odd, the keyboard shortcut works on my machine. I upgraded from 10.10. You should be able to find the appropriate action in keyboard shortcuts in the Control Center (my laptop is packed away atm, can't check). |

Navigate within folders in Unity Not a proper answer so I just make it a comment, but you could just install gnome-do and give it a new keybinding (super being occupied by Unity). |

How to change the icons of multiple files from terminal? Is that launcher icons, or the default icons for filetypes, based on the file endings? |

bash shells opened via Terminal's “Open Tab” do not source .bashrc Can't reproduce this, my .bashrc is sourced when opening a new tab (using default gnome terminal). |

Why pressing the left arrow key in MonoDevelop's code editor panel changes the panel focus instead of moving the cursor? Turned me off MonoDevelop so fast. |

Building a new rig: will a 9800 GT work well for my needs? Use the 9800GT myself, with the proprietary drivers, never had a problem. Both WoW and Minecraft work fine =) In fact, Dragon Age 2 runs with max graphics (no AA) as well, I only tested that in Windows though. |

Some “For purchase” apps not visible in software centre I seem to remember that if there's only a 32bit version, users of 64 bit Ubuntu will not see it in the list and vice versa. |
