Thank you for your answer! Can you draw me a diagram of what you are describing? I always think of a bridge as taking two physical ports and putting them on the same network; When we start talking about virtual switches this all gets kind of murky.

I live in America; we do not have our choice of ISPs and most of them do not have ipv6. What the check is reverse nat and why do I need it on my physical router for this to work?

comment Is there a way to backup and restore basic file / folder permissions on Ubuntu the way that there is using icacls in Windows?
You'd need it if you were changing permissions on some of the files in a directory of many files and aren't sure if the permissions are going to be set correctly for something you are testing out. It would allow you to revert to the original permissions if you get it wrong when testing it.
