comment GUI app to Convert PDF files to ODT
LibreOffice is able to open PDF files, really. It could open while preserving layout and text formatting, but slow to open and text are separated into many pieces. As for the GUI application you are looking for--is it important to preserve the text layout and formatting?

comment Custom LiveCD — Skip Install/boot to desktop and run custom app
There is a similar post with various and longer explanations. However, this is for earlier releases i.e. 13.10, 11.04 and likely untested with newer releases.

comment Custom LiveCD — Skip Install/boot to desktop and run custom app
By the way, the "Install dialog" shown in linked screenshot will not appear if you had pressed Return (Enter) key when the initial boot logo at bottom of screen appear. By doing this, a list of menu will be shown to you like, "Try Ubuntu before installing", "Install Ubuntu..", etc.

comment What is the difference between Grub and Syslinux?
In general, it is said that Syslinux is most often used as bootloader for Live media while Grub is more common used for local disk installation. But I can't find any article that include reasons for these. Unless the practice is baseless, I suppose there must be any difference that made Ubuntu include both Syslinux and Grub in its ISO images.

comment What is the difference between Grub and Syslinux?
To clarify my question, I am referring to the use of Grub and Syslinux bootloaders on Ubuntu ISO images (read-only media i.e. Live CD/DVD/USB), rather than already installed system.

comment What is the difference between Grub and Syslinux?
@oldfred The filesystem of ISO image is ISO9660 and isn't FAT32. Syslinux apparently works on EFI-supported machine also, so why still use both Syslinux and Grub?

Okay, replaced the keywords accordingly: Live CD -> 32-bit ISO image; Live USB -> 64-bit ISO image.

Replaced Live CD and Live USB with 32-bit and 64-bit instead, following suggestion from a commentor.
