comment Pencil export page as PNG does not work
@Seth oh, I see... Thanks! Well, I understand that bug reports aren't really appropriated here, but this is not really a report: it's an explanation on how to apply a workaround. I fail to see why this is inappropriated.

To whoever voted to close this: do you care to comment? I really fail to see why this question is inappropriate here.

comment How do I run a .JAR file via the terminal
@lightning you have a dot between the jar name and the classname in your command. Could this be the reason for it to be failing?

You're welcome. That's alright, that link is just a bug reported by other users with the same problem. If you liked my answer, you can mark it as accepted by clicking the V mark besides it.

why do you want to do that? Maybe if you try to explain what exactly is that you want to achieve, we'll provide you better ideas.

comment Move audio files after playing
sorry, I may have misunderstood what you really want, mpd is just a server program that allows you to queue and dequeue music files, you use client programs to do that (there are several, from cmdline to big GUIs) and control play/stop.

Interesting question, I don't think there is any way to guarantee that you won't lose focus.

comment shell script to install and run
do you have control over the ftp server? If you do, maybe it would be nice to always have a symbolic link that always pointing to the latest version (myapp-latest.deb), and then make your script download that.

comment shell script to install and run
Why isn't shell-script a fine choice in this case? I know expect is good for interactive sessions, but the interactive part is quite small in this case (password can probably be passed in the url), a shell script would be fine.

comment Transfer browser tabs from Firefox to Google Chrome
I mean it does not verifies if the file sessionrestore.js exists, before trying to load. A more robust script would first check if the file exists, something like [ -f PATH/TO/sessionrestore.js ] || { echo "sessionrestore not found!"; exit 1; }, things like this.

comment Pipable command to print in color?
If you really want to do an executable file though, you should copy everything from within the function (inside the brackets) and put in a file "colorize", mark it as executable and put it in some directory in your $PATH variable (/usr/local/bin is a good place)
