Loves LTS releases. Currently on Ubuntu 12.04 dual booted with Windows 8. Hates UEFI with a passion.

comment Headphone jack not working?
Just a note. I set pulseaudio not to auto respawn as I was trying various fixes to this problem. When I rebooted my system, the problem seemed to persist (speakers good, headphones not). When I realized that pulseaudio isn't even working, I reset it to auto respawn and rebooted. And yay! I have my headphones back!

After two days, manual seems to be the best way to deal with my problems (for now). Also, I did not know that you can edit MP3 metadata in Rhythmbox. That seems to make EasyTAG redundant. Or not? Why should I keep it installed?

Two cents worth. When you're just learning vim, don't edit source code...yet. Good luck! ;)

comment What's the difference if I use Windows 7 as a Standard User vs if I use ubuntu?
I agree with the reasons except for the small user-base. While the claim is sound, even provable, no one should be banking on that. You never know what malware creators consider as "juicy".

@fossfreedom, that would be much appreciated though I'll hang out a bit to see if better suggestions come along.

@fossfreedom, I've seen that but I think this is different in that my case is actually same album but different disc numbers (disc 1 vs disc 2).

@wilf Yes unfortunately. I've tried manually adding the disc number in the given field hoping for some magic but nada.

comment Wallpaper won't stay
Did you dual boot (with Windows)? It may be that you dual booted and the wallpaper image is in the Windows partition. It disappears every reboot since your Windows partition isn't automatically mounted when you start-up.
