In fact, I found some people having the exact same problem (this was mostly happening while using Pure Data), and apparently installing intel's graphic chip's drivers did the trick. I installed them and since that haven't had any crash! Let's see ...

Ok ... as soon as this happens again, I'll post this. This is a brand new laptop, so I guess there's enough free ram. I do hope it's not the "faulty hardware" one!!!

Yeah ! So this is using upstart right ? Does this mean that the script will also be started at boot (which would be great !) ? And respawn is enough so that you don't need to setup monit ?

the script just scraps tweets from twitters using a streaming API. So basically there's an infinite loop waiting for tweets to be pushed, executing some code, and back to waiting. I just want this to be running without worrying ... if there's a bug and it crashes, and so on ...
