comment Ubuntu Touch uninstall p4
For myself, I have resorted to just about any mode before getting a soft-bricked device back to stock Android (to try again). IMHO This is still on-topic if the person got in the situation, while testing Ubuntu Touch.

comment Ubuntu Touch uninstall p4
That is not an Odin/Heimdall issue, but rather lack of the correct driver may be stopping Windows from recognising the tablet (and allowing USB access).

Please clarify: Nexus 7 (gen 1) or Nexus 7 (gen 2, 2013). Also, what version / build of Ubuntu Touch are you running?

comment How can I make my main user an administrator, just like in Windows XP?
My comment was about the security model for XP, not its age or support period.

comment How can I make my main user an administrator, just like in Windows XP?
The purpose of sudo is to provide the function of administrator, without leaving the computer open to be exploited (at privileged-account level) when the user opens a file, goes to a website, or attaches a device. That is a weakness (or flaw) in Windows XP, and one more reason why that OS is no longer safe (or supported).

comment SSH for ubuntu touch
This needs Ubuntu Touch specific details, due to the tidy-up of security and settings on Ubuntu Touch 14.10 BETA (Utopic). First, SSH needs to be enabled (on device), you need to have created a public key (on workstation), and you need to transfer this to the device.

This should work. If you are using 14.04, is it fully updated? What version of Android/MTP are you using?

comment SFTP/SSH Not Working in Ubuntu Touch
Did you solve this? You needed to read: [Ubuntu-phone] Developer heads up ... change in ssh handling on the phone (on 23/05/14 02:51) Steps: create SSH key (on workstation), enable SSH on device, copy public key to device, connect.

Agree with jmiserez. First backup your data, take note of any applications settings; and check you have all passwords, settings, etc. recorded somewhere. Then do a new install of 14.04.1. If you only have 2GB (or less) of RAM, user 32-bit.

There are/were steps to enable SSH, but they have changed recently. I will research further. Meantime, check out: lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone (which is where the changes were announced. )
