There is no commit of yours there (at least not with the user happyskeptic). I had this symptom too sometimes, where I could re-connect without rebooting. There seem to be two different stages of the error in the card-driver: first stage - disconnect; second stage:dead

Which comment in which other question? It definitely is no solution on its own, I had another fail just now. The symptom is, that the connection is lost, it tries to reconnect, but never stops, If I press "disable Wireless" in the nm-applet in the top, I cannot re-enable wireless ever after, because the wireless adapter is gone. Only a reboot helps.

Although I am not quite sure, if the latest linux-firmware did solve the wifi issue, I just had a new breakdown and had to reboot my laptop
