@user244986 The only needed exports are the PATH one and maybe JAVA_HOME (some programs use it). The others are copied from the package oracle-java8-installer

@user244986 See my edit. Please note that the PPA process is more or less the same as the manual one (ie the installation of that package only downloads a script to do basically the same).

What are you trying to do? npm install -g cordova will install cordova globally. If you want it to be installed in your current directory only remove the -g switch. Also unless you have a very specific purpose there is no need to install node modules in /var/www...
