comment Ubuntu 13.10 laptop bluetooth not working properly
Unfortunately it seems it's not that simple. sudo apt-get install -f doesn't seem to do anything about it. Anyhow, thanks for trying.

did try the above and got some Unmet build dependencies: libdbusmenu-gtk3-dev libgnome-bluetooth-dev libido3-0.1-dev libindicator3-dev valac-0.18 so I'll just wait for the update. Thanks.

Thanks for the replay. I missed that Metadata option in the Edit/Preferences. But it seems that even with the option checked it's not updating the EXIF data in JPEGs. When I double click on a newly imported RAW file, it generates a JPEG file (and with that option checked) it does show a progress bar and says that it's writing some metadata, but when I look at the extended information at the JPEG files it gives no information on lens.. etc. I am not affected by that bug and I'm not shooting RAW+JPEG, just RAW, and the JPEG is generated by Shotwell.

comment “cannot find -lOpenCL” error when making the Cuda SDK
I found out by myself what the problem was. I was trying to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH which is related to /usr/bin/ld specifically, while I should have set LIBRARY_PATH which is the correct environment variable for the gnu compiler (used here). I don't know the connection between LD_LIBRARY_PATH and LIBRARY_PATH (or in this case ld and gcc and why gcc doesn't use the ld executable.. I thought that gcc is using it; but maybe someone experienced enough can answer that).
