I am a web developper from Hamburg.

My main weapons of choice are PHP, JavaScript, and sometimes Java and recently some python. I feel most comfortable on a unix-like system featuring a powerful bash. I love to code via PhpStorm / IntelliJ IDEA. Some jobs are still best done in vim though.

My hobbies include programming (duh), hacking, science, listening to music, gaming and other rather mundane activities. Such as being an active member of the German Pirate Party.

Deleting a file makes the force -f flag unnecessary.

comment Start vim automatically as root in home folder
I still do not understand your use case, as what you describe still implies something terribly wrong with your file system. Again, files in your home directory should never need root rights to be edited.

Do you intend to get rid of the the password prompt? And could you specify the use case? As generally speaking, stuff in your home should belong to you and not root.

Edit: My bad. Had mistook -f for force instead of --fix-broken

Has the settings menu been dumbed down? I could not see such an option in Ubuntu 11.10 running Gnome Shell and hence I had to do askubuntu.com/a/226443/32792

This got me in the right direction. Yet via socket I got a broken pipe error. lpd was the solution that worked for me.

I have a dual monitor setup and xcalib only inverts one screen. Do you know how to invert both at once, or how to specify which one to invert?

@Marco Is it possible to invert a specific application with xcalib? E.g. google-chrome? Or is it only able invert the current monitor?

No need to be self-demeaning. If your question not wanted, it will be downvoted. And if someone wants for you to clarify your question, he will say so in a comment. And forbidding people to edit your post is kind of missing the point. This site is designed for everything to be editable for everyone.
