comment Incorrect GMT time
Oh! So the point is UTC == GMT ... And that's why there's no GMT in the list! I guess my problem is solved. The solution is: Just look at UTC and forget about Greenwich ;)

@Archemar Here is the output: Tue Sep 9 16:52:16 IRDT 2014 Tue Sep 9 12:22:16 UTC 2014

comment Incorrect GMT time
Well there is no entry for "GMT" in the "Time & Date" list. There is only one "Greenwich, UK" which I selected, assuming that it's GMT. If this is not GMT, then how can I have a GMT entry?

@steeldriver To add new locations in the "Time & Date" settings, you just type the name of the location, then select the desired item from the popup list. And there is only one "Greenwich, UK" in the list.

comment Problem with org.freedesktop.Geoclue.Providers.Hostip, running Qreator on Xubuntu-14.04
Thanks! That actually worked and it's working now! If this package is required, then why it's not in the dependencies?!

@Parto I checked xchm and it seems to be a nice alternative. Thank you.

comment What happened to ChmSee in 14.04?
@hbdgaf I took a closer look at the PPA and chmsee is not available for Trusty by that PPA. So basically this answer is not correct. The NICE and SAFE way is explained in another answer.

I agree. I will update my question.

Thanks for the PPA. Although as said in another comment, I prefer to simply download and install a .deb package instead of adding an entire repository just to install one app!

comment What happened to ChmSee in 14.04?
Thanks for the info. I understand that un-maintained applications can cause security problems but in the case of chmsee which was stable and tested since 12.04 with no further changes till now, I'm not convinced this was a right choice.

This code adds a repository to my apt list. Is this repo considered safe? I mean is it certain that it won't cause any conflicts with the official Ubuntu packages? I would prefer simply downloading a .deb package instead of adding an entire repo just to install one app!

comment Choppy Video Playback with Intel GMA-500 Chipset
Thanks for the answer but those drivers were for the old days and they are now obsolete. You can read more about them in this wiki page: wiki.ubuntu.com/PoulsboObsoleteDrivers

If you had read my answer completely (specially the final NOTES), I think my explanations are VERY clear ...

comment How to change file size calculation in Nautilus from “decimal prefix” back to the normal “binary prefix”?
Really a shame to hear that ... Taking a look on the Internet, and the up-votes for this and similar questions, it is clear that this issue needs to be addressed by Canonical.

I HAVE mentioned that this is NOT a command-line solution, (like some other answers). So why post this answer? In case of no WORKING command-line solutions proposed by others, having an ALTERNATIVE option is better than NO options.

As I mentioned, my experience with installing and using MS-Office using WINE didn't go well. The program didn't work as it does on Windows (showed incorrect behaviour) and also crashed a lot!

comment 'zeitgeist-fts' always using a lot of memory!
The two operations I did didn't fix the problem and again 'zeitgeist-fts' went above 300 MB memory usage! ... Guess I have to remove the exec permissions of the 'zeitgeist' files!

Thanks for the tip ... Although I think I will be better of just disabling zeitgeist all together.

comment 'zeitgeist-fts' always using a lot of memory!
Thanks for the detailed answer. I opted the "Disable It" option, but I only did remove it from startup and turned-off 'Record Activity'. I didn't remove the exec permissions of the files, I thought it was too much :) ... Let's see how it goes and I'll give feedback again ... Just to make sure: This doesn't break any functionalities of Dash or Unity? Right?!
