If you had read my answer completely (specially the final NOTES), I think my explanations are VERY clear ...

comment How to change file size calculation in Nautilus from “decimal prefix” back to the normal “binary prefix”?
Really a shame to hear that ... Taking a look on the Internet, and the up-votes for this and similar questions, it is clear that this issue needs to be addressed by Canonical.

comment Convert docx to PDF
I HAVE mentioned that this is NOT a command-line solution, (like some other answers). So why post this answer? In case of no WORKING command-line solutions proposed by others, having an ALTERNATIVE option is better than NO options.

As I mentioned, my experience with installing and using MS-Office using WINE didn't go well. The program didn't work as it does on Windows (showed incorrect behaviour) and also crashed a lot!

comment 'zeitgeist-fts' always using a lot of memory!
The two operations I did didn't fix the problem and again 'zeitgeist-fts' went above 300 MB memory usage! ... Guess I have to remove the exec permissions of the 'zeitgeist' files!

comment 'zeitgeist-fts' always using a lot of memory!
Thanks for the tip ... Although I think I will be better of just disabling zeitgeist all together.

comment 'zeitgeist-fts' always using a lot of memory!
Thanks for the detailed answer. I opted the "Disable It" option, but I only did remove it from startup and turned-off 'Record Activity'. I didn't remove the exec permissions of the files, I thought it was too much :) ... Let's see how it goes and I'll give feedback again ... Just to make sure: This doesn't break any functionalities of Dash or Unity? Right?!

comment Can't Access Apache on VirtualBox VM (using NAT + Host-only)
I haven't done any binding. Actually I don't need the server to be accessed by a name. The VM's IP address (i.e. 10.10.10.15) is fine if it works ...

comment Can't Access Apache on VirtualBox VM (using NAT + Host-only)
I did mention in the question that the VM is Oracle Linux which is based on RHEL ... Can you please explain your note on binding Apache to all interfaces ... What exactly should I do to fix my problem?

Actually I didn't do anything special after installing Apache with YUM, other than starting the httpd service. What should I do ?

comment Xubuntu: Disable gnome-keyring
@ZDroid I checked it out, and aptitude had no difference with apt-get. Aptitude also wants to remove both xubuntu-desktop and software-center.

comment Xubuntu: Disable gnome-keyring
@ZDroid Thanks! This brings the Passwords and Keys app to Xubuntu. According to my searches, I thought one can disable gnome-keyring with this app, but now I see this is not the solution. I will edit my question. My mistake!

comment Are there Human Interface Design Guidelines for Unity Development?
Close but then again not exactly what I'm looking for. Some of the above links include guidelines, but others are just descriptive articles about different aspects of the Unity shell. Take a look at GNOME's HIG or Android's HIG that I have linked in my question ... that's the kind of stuff I'm looking for, which seems such a thing is not available for Unity.

comment Are there Human Interface Design Guidelines for Unity Development?
I think my question is clear ... I'm looking for HIGs for developers willing to create apps for Unity.

Did you install the proprietary drivers of NVIDIA (using additional drivers) or you're using the open-source nouvea module?

comment 3G USB Modem Not Working in 12.04
I assumed that UsbModeSwitch is a pre-installed module on modern Linux dirtros! Anyway I found another way to switch the device type, which I will fully explain as an answer.

comment 3G USB Modem Not Working in 12.04
No I haven't tried that script. I was hoping there would be a standard solution to the problem, specially since the device works fine with the previous version of Ubuntu (i.e. 11.10).
