I've studied Computer Science in university for about eight years, resulting a B.S. degree in Software Engineering and a M.S. degree in Artificial Intelligence. Currently I'm studying Information Security for a PhD in Computer Science. I'm a Muslim; I love Libre/Open-source software; I'm a GNU/Linux enthusiast; I love software development, specially using Java; And I'm constantly trying to learn new facts and skills ...

Oh! So the point is UTC == GMT ... And that's why there's no GMT in the list! I guess my problem is solved. The solution is: Just look at UTC and forget about Greenwich ;)

Well there is no entry for "GMT" in the "Time & Date" list. There is only one "Greenwich, UK" which I selected, assuming that it's GMT. If this is not GMT, then how can I have a GMT entry?

@steeldriver To add new locations in the "Time & Date" settings, you just type the name of the location, then select the desired item from the popup list. And there is only one "Greenwich, UK" in the list.

Thanks! That actually worked and it's working now! If this package is required, then why it's not in the dependencies?!

@Parto I checked xchm and it seems to be a nice alternative. Thank you.

@hbdgaf I took a closer look at the PPA and chmsee is not available for Trusty by that PPA. So basically this answer is not correct. The NICE and SAFE way is explained in another answer.

I don't agree with the last edits. This is 14.04 specific issue so the title was fine. The update as suggested by another user in the comments is also completely reasonable and makes the question more helpful. The answers so far were completely relevant to the updated question, except for one.
