comment Ubuntu 15.04 & 15.10 - Bluetooth Logitech Ultrathin Touch Mouse t630 - Extream Lag
Yeah, I swapped out the broadcom chip right away. $20 gets you a much nicer, faster, longer range wifi card+bluetooth; how-to is documented in the xps 13 manual and appears not to void any warranty, so kudos to Dell for that at least.

Have you tried in Ubuntu 15.10? Works great for me -- automatically connects after reboot, natural scrolling, left-right scolling, gesture to open start menu all work. (The switch-app gesture appears to be bound to forward / back navigation in the browser). I have it paired to XPS 13 with an intel bluetooth chip.

comment Docker and linux-kernel-extra packages
you should be able to get that package from the wily (beta release) repos; I believe it's prepared by ubuntu and not the kernel team. Alternatively, just tell docker to use an alternative to aufs, e.g. devicemapper

Right, so there's no sysctl command for that? I just recall /proc isn't like most root directories, and not all files can just be edited. (though wouldn't it be great if I could just edit /proc/meminfo like that and add more memory hehe)

How would you tweak perf_cpu_time_max_percent? I see it listed in /proc/sys/kernel/perf_cpu_time_max_percent but don't imagine one should edit that file. Does this involve tweaking the kernel directly?

comment HDMI is not displayed in the “Sound” settings on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Not sure why you suggest installing NVIDIA binaries -- nothing in the Oso's question seems to suggest this is an NVIDIA card. I believe the Dell he describes, the XPS M1330, has integrated Intel GMA graphics (cnet.com/products/dell-xps-m1330/specs)

comment Laggy/jumpy/erratic bluetooth mouse in Ubuntu 15.04
This impacts me as well -- I lose the bluetooth connection entirely on the new dell xps-13-dev edition, ubuntu 15.04, after suspend. Toggling bluetooth off and on (Fn+PrtScr) seems to bring bluetooth back up.

Note that this same error also occurs when using duplicity directly with Amazon S3. Also note that installing the latest boto using pip install instead of apt-get still does not resolve the issue.

@Jan Yes, python-boto is installed; and yes, other backup methods work fine.

comment How do I encrypt an external (USB) hard drive in 14.04?
@bodhi.zazen Right, I just meant to point out that this is not a duplicate of a dependency problem because the user has already installed the software, the said software just has a different name.

comment How to encrypt external devices?
@Pabi Thanks for the detailed answer but this doesn't seem to reflect the changes to gnome-disk-utility for Ubuntu 14.04. The interface is rather different; this closely matches the 12.04 directions. In 14.04, disk utility has been renamed "disks", and lacks a lot of these options as far as I can tell.

@bodhi.zazen This isn't a duplicate of the issue you link; the disk utility is now called "disks" on 14.04 and doesn't have the options described in the thread the user links.
