Photography and Mathematics have a lot in common. They are bounded just by your immagination, and after you mastered their basic tecniques, nobody can stop you from creating and discovering your world in your works.

I love the GNU ideas, but I recognise that sometimes is really hard to follow them in every part.

On Google+, on Facebook, on DeviantART and many other sites.

comment Why are Ubuntu upgrades so large (compared to Android)?
I am not sure that it actually gives any advantage (apart maybe from some cleanliness of the system). I think that you will be welcome to develop some tools for the Ubuntu upgrade to make it more "Android-style" and less net expensive :)

Simply... use it :) everything is already optimized, to get the most out of it you simply need to stress it (and probably use applications that parallelize over multiple threads, but that does not depend on Ubuntu).

comment Why is GNOME Software Center not included in Ubuntu GNOME (14.04/14.10)?
I think that the technical reason for not adding it to the repos is the fact that also Debian is not using it and, instead, it is using USC.

comment Does ubuntu treat downloaded files specially?
That error means that his terminal wasn't placed in the same directory in which he downloaded the file. If he downloads the file in the Desktop folder then he should first move to it cd ~/Desktop and then launch it ./dev-mode. Or he can use the full path $HOME/Desktop/dev-mode. To know the directory in which the terminal is placed there exists the useful command pwd.

comment What happened to ChmSee in 14.04?
chmsee in that ppa is not available for Trusty. And indeed, it cannot be installed on Trusty due to missing dependencies (xulrunner).

comment sharing FAT partition on external SSD setup with windows
@enedil that's false. I have an external drive with one NTFS partition and one ext4 partition and Windows sees the NTFS.

comment sharing FAT partition on external SSD setup with windows
I think that you can try to put the FAT partition at the beginning, formatting via Windows itself. Then you go back to Gparted and without touching that FAT partition you put two other partitions. Note that you should align the partition at the cilinders to get the highest compatiblity.

comment How do I get Java plugin working on Google Chrome?
Java will NOT work on Chrome, like any other NPAPI plugin, unless it will be moved to the PPAPI architecture. References: here and here
