Firefox 9.0 loads Apps tab despite preference not to load tabs I have edited my answer to include the bugs related to this issue. Essentially, they did that on purpose and they are now adding a new pref to control pinned tabs. The pref will be browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs. |

Many (many!) bookmarks in Firefox make the desktop lock up on hovering “Bookmarks” in firefox. Fixes? I have added another option to my reply. |

How to completely uninstall and reinstall Firefox? I don't see a good reason to tell the user the move the profile, since this is most likely a system issue. Additionally, the purge command doesn't do anything else than the remove command when used to remove Firefox, since Firefox doesn't save configuration files in the system directories. |

Remove all cookies except for app/pinned tabs Well, perhaps not al of them, but at least you know the domain. Just protect the ones of the pinned domains. |

How do I install the latest stable version of Firefox? If you prefer, read the Firefox 4,5 & Beyond Mega Thread that I just added. BTW, I replaced the content with a link, because my answer was not selected, despite the fact that it contained all the necessary information and more. So why bother with updating a tutorial that nobody will use? Is just better to give a link, in case someone still read this. |

Is Firefox 6 performance worse in Ubuntu than upstream? It seems that only affects the size of the file you need to download and Firefox startup time. |

Firefox freezes while opening multiple tabs I have no info about your card, but it seems to me that ATI is a little bit problematic on Ubuntu. You might want to search the Ubuntu forums to find out the best driver for it or if there are any tweaks to improve it's performance and stability. |

Firefox freezes while opening multiple tabs Tab Grouping (Panorama) doesn't improve performance, because tabs are still loaded in the background. However, in Firefox 6 when you use the Panorama feature, tabs are not loaded on startup, until you click the group. It helps to improve startup performance. |

How to run multiple versions (via multiple profiles) of Firefox? It doesn't matter, I have Kubuntu also. Are you downloading the binaries with the same architecture of your system? |

VLC for flash video I am the developer of FVR. I had plans to make a Chrome version, but it is on hold. Due to time constrains I am currently focusing on my Firefox add-ons only. |

Web sites see my firefox as a mobile browser On a side note, you are using an old version of Firefox and probably other applications as well. You nee to update your system using the Update Manager. It won't fix your problem, but will make sure you have the latest security patches. In regard to your problem, you could try Firefox 5. See Firefox 4,5 & Beyond Mega Thread: ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1712247 |

How does one go about installing flash 11 (64bit)? Type about:plugins in the address bar of Firefox, Chrome or Opera. you can also configure Firefox to show the full path, by changing the preference plugin.expose_full_path in about:config |

How does one go about installing flash 11 (64bit)? It got safer now (v 2.2.0), with SSL and plugin hash check :-) |

Some Flash moving portions displayed incorrectly in Firefox Version 2.2.0, which includes the new security protocol, is already available for download. |

Some Flash moving portions displayed incorrectly in Firefox I am testing a new version with SSL support and other security measures. Simply put, there won't be redirection from updates.webgapps.org any more and the script will verify the file hash before installing. If SSL fails, the extension uses the urls hard-coded in the extension instead of the data from the site. |

How to restore flash settings? Just updated Flash-Aid to get the new Flash 11 Betas, for both 32bit and 64bit. If you already use Flash-Aid, all you need is to execute the Wizard to install. Hardware acceleration and the performance tweak "Override GPU validation" is working on YouTube again. No more black screen. If you already use Flash-Aid, you probably will receive an alert tomorrow, since it only checks for updates once a day. But if you run the Wizard today, you can ignore that alert. |
