comment Ubuntu 14.04 - Battery Problem
It looks like a kernel incompatibility issue. Try choosing an older kernel version in Grub and see if the problem persists. If you discover this is indeed a kernel issue, file a bug report.

What script did you run? What exactly is the problem with localhost? Please be specific including any error messages you're receiving.

comment Is it possibly to install Ubuntu without making partitions?
It is recommended to have at least a swap partition besides root. This can be on the second hdd as well. Also, to boot Ubuntu from the second disk, you can use the bios boot menu to choose the second hdd to avoid putting grub on the first disk.

Probably you're better off downloading the Ubuntu iso file and install afresh, including the installation of all the packages that trying to convert a Debian install into an Ubuntu. There are many differences that would cause problems (and many hours of trying to solve them).

I always use the "something else" option to be sure what the installation will do but you need to read a bit to know what you're doing to do this.

comment Downloading and Opening Instillation File
These are not "installation files" but disc images. Ubuntu is not simply an application but an operating system (like Windows or MacOS). You have to: either burn them to a DVD or create a live USB with something like Unetbootin. Then boot your PC from DVD or USB to install Ubuntu.

comment Ubuntu 12.04 LTS drains my Samsung Series 9 900X3C ultrabook's battery extremely fast. Is there anything I can do to fix that?
What video card does your ultrabook have? Try using proprietary drivers (exceptif you have an Intel card). It may help reduce consumption.

Then maybe there's an issue with the compatibility of the external monitor and the video card refresh and resolution settings. You might want to create an xorg.conf file. You may end up with a system that doesn'nt boot. In that case, boot from a live DVD or USB and delete the offending xorg.conf file.

To change the dual display mode to the desired one, simple cycle through Fn +F5 (or whatever your key combination is) multiple times until you get the desired behaviour.
