comment How to enable DHCP server to all subnets for PXE server?
I'm not sure if I understand your question. If you don't enter the hosts' MAC addresses, you won't be able to assign specific IP addresses and host names, but if this is not a problem for you (usually it's not) you can do this. If you want to configure DHCP for multiple subnets, you can also do this but I don't see any connection to the MAC addresses. Here is an example.

Actually there is an option "Connect automatically", but it doesn't seem to work.

comment Why do I have poor video performance in browsers with a ATI HD3650 GPU?
I'm suffering from the same problem. I use a NVidea grafic card with the proprietary drivers installed. I tested also all Flash versions with the help of Flash Aid but nothing helped. Since HTML5 on Youtube has the same problems, I suppose it's not connected to Flash anyway. I've found somewhere the optino "Sync to VBlank" for your grafic card driver might help, but it doesn't.

@Gaurav_Java Sorry, I couldn't figure out anything else to solve Q5. Also after the first connect, your server doesn't show up the next time?

@ams That's strange! I tried it with a fresh live system (for the client) and added the results to my answer. Please edit/comment, if this is not true for you!

@Gaurav_Java Ok, I'll try to extend my answer. I deleted your 7th question, because I answered it already in (3). Feel free to roll back my changes!

comment Nautilus can't see files on a NTFS partitions, but 'ls' command shows them?
Did you start Windows meanwhile? Afaik Windows does a file system check during booting after Ubuntu used the partition. Maybe this can repair something.

comment Nautilus can't see files on a NTFS partitions, but 'ls' command shows them?
Maybe they are hidden, because of a leading . in the filename or a ~ at the end of the filename? Press CTRL+H in Nautilus to display also hidden files.

comment Do I need to have 'antivirus software' installed?
@RolandTaylor You are right, downvote was to hard. And you are right too, your answer doesn't say it directly, but what I understood was, because Linux is rather secure, you are unlikely to get a virus for Linux. And this was the point, where I disagree. Linux is rather secure, but this is not the reason why it's unlikely to get a virus if an inexperienced user is running a Linux desktop machine (that's why I linked the 5-step virus). I also disagree with "it's not needed". I just believe you won't gain much security anyway. But there is maleware for Linux.

You are unlikely to get a virus for linux. But not because linux is rather secure. Linux is rather secure, but this doesn't mean that it's difficult to find ways. I was quite impressed when I first read how to write a Linux virus in 5 steps. I don't want to say that we need anti virus software. We are just lucky that most viruses are not targeting Linux (for whatever reason) and the average Linux users has more knowledge about do's and don'ts.

@shantanuo The output of mount says if the drive is mounted rw or ro (read-write/read-only).

comment Is there a way to stop Chrome/Firefox record history of a 'particular' website?
Usually if you want no records of visiting a web page, you don't want anything to be recorded from this web page, so it would be strange to store a list of particular websites without history records. But yes, it might be usefull if you just want not to store sessions and so on.

Similar, but not the same. arbtt and Hamster might be the closest answeres. I suppose arbtt only logs, but doesn't count your working time. Hamster can do something similar with workspaces, but there is a bug.

It seems to me to be a very uncommon problem, so I would expect to find any extensions or ready solutions. But I don't know, just guessing.
