comment Network manager forgets wireless password after sleeping or powering off
This is not an option for me. I want to have a guest account without password, but I do not want them to see all of my wireless passwords. The password for my university wifi can be used also elsewhere, so I have to keep it really secret.

comment How do I make the Nautilus sidebar default to tree view?
This seems to be a bug to me. I can't reproduce it. Can you describe "click on my home folder" more precisly? You click on your home folder in the sidebar?

This won't work in Firefox 13. This sets the startpage, but firefox loads the page about:newtab.

comment No sound with Thunderbird 12.0.1
Although others confirm this problem, it does not seem to exist always: I can't reproduce this problem. A fresh 12.04 with thunderird and I can hear the sound. I did not change anything with thunderbird, but I use the old .thunderbird directory. I use GNOME shell instead of Unity, but can't believe this matters.

comment How to prevent WLAN connection from dropping permanently on a Fritz USB WLAN N stick?
Run tailf /var/log/syslog and watch carefully what is printed when the wireless disconnects. Hopefully there are helpful error messages. Add them to your question or try googeling them yourself!

I can't accept answers, it is not my question. And it seems as if it is not possible to award yourself for your own bounty. Nevermind...

@izx I added a clarification (currently under peer review), probably you won't see the behaviour.

@virpara A good suggestion! Unfortunately I couldn't find anything. But I couldn't find any good documentation and the dconf-editor does not provide a search function. So maybe there is something I missed...

comment Bash Completion Doesn't Work In Root User
@T0MXeOnLuCiFeR I'm quite sure that this is the source of your problem. Did you cat again to see if you actually changed the file as I suggested? Did you close and reopen all terminals? If not, try to run . /etc/bash_completion manually (note that there is a .!).

@T0MXeOnLuCiFeR Well... finally it is a duplicate of the suggested question, but a bit more tricky maybe... :) I added detailed instructions as answer.

comment Where do I place a logout script for LightDM?
Yeah I thought so, but I didn't think of that and tried 15 times to log out and in again. Fortunately I didn't delete my test script and after reboot (I had given up already) it worked... :)

@EDi did you try titaniumtux' suggestion? I assume that this is a bug which should be reportet at launchpad.

@T0MXeOnLuCiFeR can you add the output of sudo cat /root/.bashrc?

comment Where do I place a logout script for LightDM?
If you add a cleanup script and log out, it won't work immediately. It seems as if you have to reboot first.
