The order in BIOS is different to the one after I press F12. After F12 the 1st always hdd and second usb. Your advice didn't help.

comment How to upgrade flash player on usb-live Ubuntu?
So can I 1) create persistent install on external hdd without loosing any data and with partitioning it when I boot from live-usb? 2) create persistent install on usb stick (I have spare 4GB usb stick with me which I can format do whatever is needed) when booted from live-usb? Do I need to download Ubuntu iso again?

How can I find out if the live-usb is persistent? I used UNetbootin and if I can remember correctly I used default settings.

comment Can I install ubuntu on usb hdd without loosing data on it?
One more question. I'd partition my external hdd and then install Ubuntu on one of the new partitions. Then I want to mount fat partition when booting Ubuntu. I have 4 usb ports. Does it matter which one I use to the device id is the correct one or it doesn't matter?
