comment Avoid double titlebar in GNOME apps running under Xfce?
Oli: I tried the "edit" thing, but it just uploads to another third party (imgur). NGRhodes: you can just right-click and "show image" to show the large image

comment How do I cherry pick packages from a PPA?
But in order to do "install package/ppa-name", don't you need to add-repository the ppa? In which case on next upgrade you still get asked if you want to upgrade to all the packages from that ppa?

comment Is someone trying to hack into my server? What can I do?
For servers that are exposed to the net (well, for any ssh servers really) you should set PermitRootLogin no and PasswordAuthentication no in /etc/ssh/sshd_config

comment What should VM writeback timeout be set to for a laptop?
You should also be able to put vm.dirty_writeback_centisecs=1500 in /etc/sysctl.d/99-vm-writeback.conf and reboot or do sudo service procps start

comment How to disable the keyring for SSH and GPG?
You can flush the keyring (forget your passwords, both gpg and ssh and others) by doing gnome-keyring-daemon -r -d. This is simple way of restarting the daemon. One possible problem is that if it wasn't running in the first place, it'll start up (I don't know a good way of only restarting it if it's already running, except parsing ps :/)
