Rotate second monitor with nvidia In your NVIDIA X Server Settings, do you have the item "X Server Display Configuration"? Is this where you see just one large "unknown" monitor? Does the "Detect Displays" button make any difference? |

Why Is 11.10 being worked on faster than previous releases As far as I know, every release has this. With 9.10 and 10.10 I noticed a huge amount of updates in the first few days - easily 200MB after a couple of weeks. (I did not use 10.04 in live and I still only have 11.04 in test vms, so maybe this is something that only hits the .10 releases! :) ) |

Command to determine whether Ubuntu is running in a virtual machine? I think command line solutions are better than installing packages. If you have superuser privileges on a system (to install packages) are you likely to be unsure if it's virtualised or not? |

Command to determine whether Ubuntu is running in a virtual machine? At least one virtualbox message may appear on a host running virtualbox guests, so I'd drop the dmesg option. But lspci and lsusb are good. |

Can I shorten the timing in the Alt+Tab dialog? Do you have package compizconfig-settings-manager installed? (Command: ccsm) This may have a setting in the plugin that controls alt-tab (something window switcher). |

Installing apt-cacher server for two ubuntu versions I am running apt-cacher-ng with multiple Ubuntu versions using it (including the test virtual machines I use for new versions). No configuration required on the server to support multiple versions and no problems. |

Terminal randomly disappears from Alt-Tab list, Unity launcher. How quickly does it happen? - If you switch to another, non-maximised, window that doesn't obscure the terminal window, you should be able to see if there's a delay, if there are any messages, etc |

How to relocate a boot partition? psusi's answer shows you how to boot from the ubuntu partition instead ... do you also want to reclaim the space used by the boot partition? (If it's less than 1GB I would not bother) |
