comment What's the most convenient way to share Steam apps between different users?
For the first solution, where do you think the shared read/write directory could be placed neatly? Would you put it in "/"? Your second solution is, I think, exactly like mine. I have some reservations about it myself; it doesn't seem like clean solution. Can you think of ways this solution can go wrong?

revised Does bcache require a fresh installation?
Fixed quote to reflect edited quote, "what is suggests" to " what is suggested," connected fragment "Especially not if..." to previous sentence.

comment How do I modify or disable the HUD's use of the Alt key?
It should have been just alt-super by default, especially with all the games coming up for Linux. Thanks.

You may also just install "linux-headers-generic" (Generic Linux Kernel Headers) if you have the latest kernel anyway.

@bodhi.zazen It worked! Put up the answer if you want to.

@thefourtheye Yes, it did. I've installed linux-headers-generic (since this will get the latest and so I won't have to look through the list) from the Software Center. It's now compiled, and I'm posting using the wireless.

@bodhi.zazen So I just install the headers of my current Linux version? I'll try this.

comment Do I have to uninstall NVIDIA drivers before replacing with an AMD GPU?
It's done. I've avoided it completely. I had them replace the motherboard with one that worked. I don't know what had been the problem.

I've lost some Unity features though like "aero snap." Scratch that. I typed "unity --replace", the panels disappeared again, rebooted.

Wow! Thanks. This worked for me (13.04). I hope there's a way to do this in terminal. That be more convenient. I've lost some Unity features though like "aero snap." I don't know how to fix that.

If it were the RAM would my old GPU setup not work either? I updated my observations: the GPU is actually working fine.
