comment Link to shell script does not run from a different location
hmmm, is the path correct? please post the output of: ls -lah /home/khalid/Home/laz-proj-linux/ and the directory listing of your desktop ( ls -lah /home/khalid/Desktop/ (i think "Desktop" is the name for it... place the right directory where the "link" should be placed)

how do you create the link? if the path is correct it should work this way..... (/home/khalid/Home/laz-proj-linux looks strange...)

comment how do i create a slideshow in GIMP for a wallpaper
slideshow + background music for a wallpaper? i think you missed what a wallpaper is.... if you want a slideshow with audio you can use a lot of different software, "photofilmstrip" for example.

comment Deja-dup cannot access Truecrypt volume when run from Cron
If you've set up your cron command with your user it runs with the user permissions. Can you post the output here? You ALWAYS should use full and absolute paths to your commands when using it with cron. Maybe the deja-dup needs an configuration flag (environment) that is not set in cron....

comment Can I have a dhcp interface in /etc/network/interfaces?
Are you using a router to connect to the internet? Usually the router connects to your ISP (and gets an external ip) and you connect to your router by LAN (local area network) with an intern IP Adress - the router usually masquerades your internal IP by using NAT. How do you connect to the internet?
