comment Default mount options on auto-mounted NTFS partitions (how to add `noexec` and `fmask=0111`?)
@mivk I also think the closing wasn't appropriate. I was seeking a way to make NTFS drives mount with "windows_names" automatically...

comment What versioning filesystem?
Of those, only NILFS seems to be in active development (as of 2014). This answer seems to provide the instructions to use it, though I haven't tested it.

comment Unable to install boot-repair
Thanks, this worked for me. I was using a Linux Mint 12 Live CD I had around to repair my boot sector after installing Windows in another partition. Linux Mint 12 is based on Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric), and replacing that with quantal as you described allowed me to install boot-repair :)

comment fsck can't find fsck.ntfs
I would suggest adding this as a comment to Micro's answer, rather than as a standalone answer.

comment How do I get the source code of packages installed through apt-get?
Worked for me as well, thanks. Just one extra detail: you can install the .deb with sudo dpkg -i <package>.deb
