Ubuntu 12.10, suddenly HD performing ultra slow for no aparent reason Thanks, finally I bought a new HD. The older one (only 1 year old, fortunatelly the guarantee covers this) I spoiled. The new one of course runs smoothly. Thanks for your help. |

There's no Sound Mixer menu, missing menu option in Sound Recorder I already tried it. I must say I am using Ubuntu 11.10 x86. In the software center there is no gnome-volume-control. I can find GNOME mixer for ALSA, but it crashes all the time at startup. Any other way to get this working? |
