comment Zero bytes on home partition
To improve your question, please post the exact output of df, and copy the exact output of System Monitor. Remember, 2Gb, 2GB and 2GiB are different and can mean different things!

comment How to recover from 'sudo rm -rf' command?
I disagree with the first sentence of your answer ("when recursively deleting files..."). What do you mean by "recover your OS"?

comment How to recover from 'sudo rm -rf' command?
There is no difference between deleting files from your home directory or from the root directory. In both cases, the disk space used for the file is marked as unallocated, and there is a chance that future activity might overwrite the data. So there is the possibility of recovering that data using a tool like PhotoRec.

comment How to fix missing GPG keys?
It would be good if answers to this question included why this error is happening in the first place, and what to do to avoid it in future.

comment How can I encrypt the entire disk on alternate installation?
It uses dm-crypt for encryption, complying with the LUKS specification, I believe.

The ~ character is called a tilde. Just thought I'd add some Google fodder.
