comment Converting DJVU to PDF
There is no such definition in DjVu file structure. Above example image in original DjVu document is "placed" on foreground layer/mask together with characters image and there is separate text layer which was extracted as explained. If DjVu document has color image(s) they will be placed on background layer across whole page (in common compound DjVu file). While it's understandable that you may expect that images in DjVu document page are separate objects they are not - look at DjVU document page as single image with optional text layer, that's basically what is it.

What do you mean by "individual picture data" when you refer to DjVu file structure?

comment Confirmation dialog when opening multiple files
I tried to set sensitivity when I first experienced the problem, w/o success. I don't think I actually press twice, it's just like Nautilus behaves like that - that's why I thought it must be some problem with my mouse, but after I changed it it's same. Brainstorm is good idea and I'll expose my issue, and link here in next couple of hours. Thanks

OK, thanks. It's really viewed by just few and OTOH it's so terrible situation when I accidentally open many files at once. I wish there is easy solution, as I even changed my mouse in a hope to solve it, but still it's same - sometimes click for dragging or just additionally selecting items in Nautilus is treated as double-click and then I sit, waiting for windows/memory bloat :S

Good read, thanks. So this issue can be treated as piping problem to Python interpreter for whatever reason, even thou encoding is declared in source file. I feel so sad that most friendly language in the world (IMHO) crawls to this Babylonian Unicode issues in so many ways, and it's so difficult to understand all possible implications, w/o need to be bother "decode early - encode later" - it's so un-pythonic (IMHO)

I don't use Banshee, but doesn't it have access to freedb database? Alternatively try to tag ripped CD with other player/tagger that has freedb or maybe discogs access

WMP uses AMG as source for tagging, which is great service but it's not free. I would expect that musicbrainz database is bigger, but I'm not sure

Also I noticed that compressing to RAR with Nautilus archive manager, resulting archive is not compressed with default RAR setting (-m3) but with fastest setting (-m1), which is really bad decision, as if this program does not allow setting compression levels than it should not tweak defaults, which user should expects. Default setting isn't there without reason

Yes, you are right. In either case (using Nautilus' archive manager or Terminal) archive needs to be uncompressed then appended, and re-compressed again. Thanks for your archivemount suggestion, but I think I'll go with RAR. I just tested, and querying is at same speed as with tag.gz, and has lot of other handy options which makes it more sane choice instead using compressed tar.
