Shut down acts as restart? I experience this on my Lenovo T430s too, however only sometimes. I could not find any pattern when it happens. |

partitioning ssd +hdd Normally you do not need to install new ubuntu version from scratch but can upgrade from the existing one. Even if you prefer clean install, you may keep your data in home directory if you select an existing partition during the installation and make sure the "format" flag is off for it. Ubuntu simply removes all old system files but keeps /home untouched. |

Could it be possible to make a hot copy of a system? rsnapshot provides you with as many incremental multiple backups as you need (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly) and backups are available in plain full directory structure despite they are incremental. |
