Make firefox only use GTK theme on browser chrome, but ignore on websites That did it! However I should note I had 2 .default folders, (past installs/ backing up config files), and I found an easier way to open your profile folder (I did this to figure out which one was active). If you open the Help menu, then Troubleshooting Information, then you'll see an entry Profile Directory with a button Open Directory, clicking on that button will open your active randomstring.default folder directly. |

Make firefox only use GTK theme on browser chrome, but ignore on websites I'm on Ubuntu 12.10, and yes, it's the form entries and combo boxes that usually get themed by the firefox theme. Here are some screen shots: imageshack.us/a/img571/1883/screenshotfrom201302140.png | imageshack.us/a/img687/1883/screenshotfrom201302140.png | imageshack.us/a/img14/4177/screenshotfrom201302140v.png | imageshack.us/a/img14/1883/screenshotfrom201302140.png |

Just updated to 12.10, now it's asking for a partial upgrade It says no lsb module, and that I'm in 12.10, so it successfully upgraded, I guess I should run the partial upgrade then? I'm just worried it might break the install... |

How to keep Thunderbird and Pidgin running on background? This worked best for me as well, I wouldn't have recommended this before Precise, but now with the HUD for the menu, it's very doable, just press Alt when you want to access the menu, and start typing. |

Why does 11.04 freezes randomly Using unity --replace says that compiz can't open the display, I really hope a good fix comes for this. |

Why does 11.04 freezes randomly I'm having this same problem and none of the fixes work for me except using Alt+Ctrl+F1 and then sudo service gdm restart, and logging back in, or sudo reboot. I really hope this bug is fixed in 11.10. |

Install Intel onboard graphic driver in Asus K53SV? What version of Ubuntu are you using? Also do you mean the Compiz effects? To help you we need more details of your problem. Do you think you need the driver just because desktop effects won't work? Or is it because of other reasons? Because if you are simply having trouble using desktop effects, it could be unrelated to the Intel graphics driver. |

USB mouse cuts out on battery power And I'd love to find out what has caused the problem too! Do you think it could be that I have an older battery? Sometimes I get a warning that my battery may be old or broken, and that it's only at 48%, which it's about 2 years old, and still lasts a good few hours, but it use to last an hour or so longer. Could that have something to do with it? |

USB mouse cuts out on battery power I don't have things connected to my usb drives very often, so maybe that would be a good alternative for me? |

USB mouse cuts out on battery power I don't have powertop, so I know it's not that. Do you think it would be a good idea to make it so all my usb drives are always set to -1 in autosuspend thing? I could add to the script in the acpi folder (I think it's power.sh or something), to set all the values to -1 |

USB mouse cuts out on battery power Would it be a good idea to make a script that sets ALL the usb drives autosuspend to -1? Because I could always write the scripts and put them in the acpi folder. I mean, I doubt the usb drives are using all that much power when they are not suspending, but not being used... |

USB mouse cuts out on battery power Well there's nothing in the ACPI directory that seems to be causing the switch (that is the directory with power management configs, right?) Not sure what program I could have installed that is doing this. |

USB mouse cuts out on battery power I can't get a script to work, because when I unplug and replug in the mouse it changes the directory that file is in, is there any way I could use the ID number to get to the directory in a script? Otherwise maybe there's a power manager config file I could edit? |

USB mouse cuts out on battery power OK, that does help, but you were right, as soon as I plug in my charger the value changes to 0, then when I unplug it switches back to 2, I think it has to do with the power manager, is there a way to edit the power manager configuration to prevent it from doing that? Otherwise I guess I can just write a small script I can run to set the value back on battery power. |

USB mouse cuts out on battery power OK, so I googled it and it looks like the autosuspend file needs to be set to -1 to keep it from autosuspending? I'm going to try that. |

USB mouse cuts out on battery power Also, it's constantly cutting in and out, and I just noticed in the power folder runtime_status changes to suspended when it cuts out, and switches back to active when it comes back on. |
