comment 50-synaptics.conf options not working
Inspired by this answer I found a similar solution. Run dconf-editor (apt-get install it if you have to), go to org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.mouse, uncheck active. I confirm that this solution allowed me to make my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf settings be respected in Ubuntu 12.04 beta. @djeikyb, you should mark this answer accepted, because it's the only one that actually solves the subject issue.

@Daniel I think it's you who needs to re-read the question and than apologize. Because of your arrogance the correct answer got downrated.

Reveal Mode lets you hide the launcher forever or place it wherever you want. I never said that ccsm is a solution for every problem, but for this one it is! Now who's gotta recheck what he says before arrogantly pointing fingers?
