I'm just a guy who likes to express himself in art and prose as a hobby. I also enjoy fiddling about with Ubuntu, and I play MMORPGs.

comment How to maximize Evolution
I have this same problem with Thunderbird 24.01 in ubuntu 13.10. The thing is it just started a couple days ago without warning. I haven't made any changes recently other than the run of the mill software updates. Does anyone have an answer to this question?

comment Wacom Graphire buttons stopped working on Ubuntu upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04
I have the same issue with my Wacom Bamboo Fun 4x6 tablet. I have model CTE-450/S. What model Wacom tablet are you using? I also noticed that the Wacom settings in Ubuntu 13.04 seem to represent the newer Bamboo Fun models with the O Ring and slider area on the left side. My Bamboo is the older model with the O-Ring and buttons at the top.

Awesome! This worked perfectly. I only had a Knoppix Live CD available, but it still worked great.

comment How do I view an Outlook .msg file?
Thunderbird actually won't successfully read the .msg files beyond the mail header info. Once you use the msgconvert script mentioned above by Martin Owens, you can open the resulting MIME files in Thunderbird. If you save all you .msg files into a single folder and run the script with *.msg parameter, it will batch convert all the files.

I tried your method connecting to the Kindle Fire HD, but got the following: mtpfs -o allow_other /media/Kindle Listing raw device(s) Device 0 (VID=1949 and PID=0007) is UNKNOWN. Please report this VID/PID and the device model to the libmtp development team Found 1 device(s): 1949:0007 @ bus 2, dev 8 Attempting to connect device Android device detected, assigning default bug flags Listing File Information on Device with name: (NULL) fusermount: failed to open /etc/fuse.conf: Permission denied fusermount: user has no write access to mountpoint /media/Kindle It won't mount. Any ideas?

comment How to change the search location of Unity's Music Lens with Clementine instead of Banshee?
I wouldn't consider this a duplicate exactly, but it does point to the same underlying issue. The current Music Lens only works with Banshee, and there are some users, myself included, who refuse to use Banshee. After all, everyone has their favorite media player. Considering the openness toward personal choice that Linux provides, it's only right that the Music Lens should not restrict to one player. However, since the focus was on getting the Lens to work properly for 11.10, it's understandable that work on opening up to other players would be held off for later.

Lenses are just starting out. I'm sure in time someone will create a lens, or perhap a scope within the current Music Lens, that searches for music using Zeitgeist, or couchdb, or just catalog the Music folder directly. Give it some time.

I've tried out your suggestion, and alas it didn't work, neither with nor without sudo.
